Yippee, I am alive!

Hello everyone, thanks for checking in with me. I am so glad to be alive. I have always tried to be a grateful person and I want to say thanks to everyone, thanks for caring about me and helping me in so many ways to be here today. I felt so apprehensive about being put to sleep and I was worried about not waking up. The relief and gratitude I felt when I opened my eyes and I knew I had made it. The operation went really well and the only issue was my blood pressure being really low, but apart from that I am doing as well as can be expected.

I have to rest now, but I will be back to reply to your wonderful well wishes.

Thank you for your hopes, positive thinking and prayers.

Take care Cally.

Let us care for each other?

Hello everyone, thanks for checking in with me. I am so grateful that there are people in the world who care. Caring can be shown in words, actions or deeds. When people care about other people it can have a really positive impact.

When my central heating packed in last week it was a real ordeal. My family were freezing and we were told the repair would be close to three thousand pounds. I felt down and helpless. But I went online and there were people that showed me they cared. They gave me words of support and concern and I felt so much better. When I woke in the morning, I had clarity and a plan of action. Those words of comfort made me remember other people that care about me. I have one friend who always has the contact details for someone who can help. She contacted him and he called me with the number of someone who arranged to come the next day at 10. In next to no time the engineer arrived and because he cares about people and doing a good job, he had the spare part in his van,so it wasn’t long before we had heat again. It was the most amazing sensation. He had fixed the heating and charged £128 for the job. My family and I were warm and it was done in days rather than the long wait that was estimated with the original repair guy.

There are so many instances where caring makes all the difference. When I went in for my hospital pre-operation assessment, I was in pain and discomfort and in need of help. My doctor had not completed a request form for my brace and I was told to sit and wait and see if I could speak to one of the doctors. I sat and waited and a doctor smiled at me and I smiled back. He asked if I was alright and I told him my situation and he helped me. I felt so relieved to have been given support to be seen as a human in need of help rather than a bureaucratic inconvenience.

So I suggest to you to remember to care and together our care can make a difference. Once again I just want to say thanks to all those bloggers who share their knowledge and experiences so that I can care for others. To tell me about it  Michelle, who always shares her talent and the photographers who bring so much beauty into my world, the comedians who make me smile and laugh and to the readers and comment writers who make me think and be grateful.

Let me know how you are and I hope that the medical team are people who care and follow all the safety, hygiene and medical procedures so that I return home safely to my family after my knee operations.

To the warmth of kindness and heat in the world. Take care Cally.

Think about it, how precious is time?

Hi everyone, thanks for checking in with me. This year is special because it is a leap year. Waiting four years for a leap year, so much time has passed. Do we truly value how precious time is? I just visited my in-laws and time seemed to past at a different rate. When I look at my children and see how they are growing and developing, I think how time passes so quickly. Why is it, when we are doing something pleasant, we don’t see how the speed of time changes?

Bruce Lee said something that has stayed in my mind: “If you love life, don’t waste time, for time is what life is made up of.”

I suggest to you, that you remember to live your life and use each precious moment in a way that you enjoy. Spend your moments doing the things you say you will do someday. When is someday? Is it today? Tomorrow? A week from now? If ever?

There are so many things l want to do. Thanks to a fellow blogger, Seb, I have a checklist of things that will stimulate my mind and give me the “feel good” feeling.

I want to reflect on my memories knowing I felt good everyday and I kept feeling better. I want to be excited about each new day, because it is an opportunity to do all those things that make me feel alive. I want to experience all there is to feel.

One of my favourite authors Charles Haanel, inspired me to have goals and what type of person you need to be. I want to know that I am whole, perfect, loving, harmonious, powerful, strong and happy. He made me realise that you need to feel good.

I know that l feel good everyday and others are starting to feel good. People often ask me why do l feel so good?  I tell them about the good days and the slightly less good times and that they can feel good as well.

Let us use our time well everyday, so we fulfil our dreams, I know that I am feeling good and those around me are feeling good also.

I shared my idea with my children and they really are adorable and supportive children. We have written our goals and we have described the feeling that we want to achieve and we are holding on to it. My husband kinda likes the idea but he says he doesn’t do back flips. Who does? Don’t allow others to distract you.

So join us in thinking about how to use your time to feel good. Use your time well so that you are not missing a part that would fulfil you. What do you need to do to feel whole and complete? What do you need to do so you can face those challenges, so that you feel strong and powerful? So you can say yes to opportunities and no to time wasting and negative situations? So you can be loving to yourself and those you care for? Why should you use your precious time wisely? So that the result will be that you are happy.

Thomas Edison once remarked: “Time is the only capital any human being has and the only thing he cannot afford to lose.”

Good luck to us all on this wonderful journey of life, let us be the best version of ourselves and fulfil our hopes and dreams.

Take care and let me know how to use that precious time.

Happy Cally.
